Your Adventure Begins...

Your Adventure Begins...

Be dressed for action when you get here.

As you enjoy a barnyard tour and introduction, we will load your luggage onto a packsaddle and then Agnes the Mule and some of our assortment of fine horses will carry you through fields and woods to one of our yurts or rustic cabins, where your personal guide will help you get settled and teach you how to use the wood stove.

Then, you can decide your flexible schedule from our many activities, including; hiking, horseback riding, archery, cow cuddling, milking, learning about the care of farm animals and the history of breeds, pet wooly sheep and yaks, frolic with goats, learn nature crafts, practice the fiber arts, follow us on a day around the farm - or just relax and look up at the stars.

THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE YOUR ARRIVAL

This is a real, working farm, surrounded by wild spaces. Do not wear white shoes.
Those name brand clothes and trendy kicks?
No.
They will be destroyed.
The $300 hiking shoes you got just for the trip?
They're coming back worn, scuffed and covered with what we  lovingly call mud. Regardless of it's source.
You will be leaving here smelling of animals, nature and wood smoke. You are going to be scuffed and sore - and happy.
For $25 we can get you a pair of boots to ruin. Take them home, display them like a trophy.

We don't offer WiFi. Your cell phone may pick up a signal, but probably not. I'd actually recommend locking it in your car - there are lost cell phones scattered up and down this mountain, never to be found again.

Anything in your back pocket is vanishing into the multiverse 10 minutes after mounting a horse. You've been warned. We're not looking for it. We have loaner belt packs. They're less dorky than not having your car keys.

Take part of the farm home

Not Bessie, she's staying.

But this can be a great place to visit if you're thinking about a hobby farm or homestead of your own. You can get hands on learning about different kinds and breeds of livestock, and we do sell breeding stock to agricultural homes.

Crafts and cooking

Here, if you make it - it's yours! You can learn to crochet, and even how to whittle your own crochet hook. Gather wildflowers and learn how to make wildflower jelly. Learn how to create or keep a sourdough starter and bake with it - and then take home your loaf and jar!

Produce

If you love it here, be part of our Farm Club to get first crack at our limited or seasonal meats.
We have beef, pork and chicken available year-round, other meats seasonally. Ask about our packages and subscriptions, you can pick it up from the farm (any excuse for a visit!) or we can ship it to you.
